Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and Energy Systems Network (ESN) have designated May Mobility, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology development and deployment, to provide autonomous shuttle service during Indy 500 week as part of the Together In Motion Indiana initiative. May Mobility will provide free 10-minute long rides along a special demonstration route near the Indiana Statehouse to residents of Indianapolis and race week guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees will ride in a Lexus RX 450h vehicle equipped with May Mobility’s autonomous technology.
WHO – May Mobility has provided more than 270,000 autonomous rides to date and is committed to delivering safe, efficient and sustainable shuttle solutions designed to complement today’s public transportation options.
WHY – To demonstrate May Mobility’s technology and answer questions on how this initiative will better serve riders in Indianapolis through the safe, reliable, and accessible transportation options that May Mobility will be providing. The demonstration is in advance of launching an official autonomous shuttle service and route around the IUPUI campus in June.
