BlueIndy

Bolloré Group, a French conglomerate, partnered with ESN to bring its all-electric, point-to-point car sharing model to Indianapolis, its first North American city launch. Bollore Group leveraged its successful Paris-based business model, called Autolib, and replicated it in Indianapolis in 2015.

Bolloré contracted with ESN’s consulting services for project planning, management, and site design. Branded as “BlueIndy,” the public launch was held in September 2015, and became the fastest growing EV car sharing programs of Bolloré’s launch cities, which include Paris and London. BlueIndy was supported by $51 million in private-public partnerships,  Bollore Group is an international ESN partner gained due to the success of Project Plug-IN.

Indianapolis has reinvented itself by providing access to electric vehicles that you can pick up near home and drop off near your destination. In September 2015, Bolloré’s all-electric carsharing service named BlueIndy launched in Indianapolis, its first U.S. market. By early 2017, BlueIndy plans to have 500 cars at up to 200 stations conveniently located around the city.
